Calvin is almost 2 years old. He's growing up quick and will be climbing out of his crib soon. So, this spring we are clearing out the guest bedroom and turning it into Calvin's big boy room.

After painting we were able to finally set up the new bed. Calvin seems to like it a lot. But, we still have to get some curtains up on the window before trying to transition him to the new room. Then the fun will begin...trying to keep a 2 year old in bed for bed time.

The plan started a couple months ago when Jenn and her friend drove out to Salt Lake City, UT, to visit IKEA. She picked up Calvin's new twin sized bed. It's a simple design that allows for 2 configurations. While he's still little, the frame sits such that the mattress lies close to the floor. But when he gets a little older, the frame can be flipped over, and the mattress lies a few feet above the floor, for a loft effect. Pretty fun.

This past weekend we painted. Jenn picked out a blue, orange, and green color scheme that is fun and matches his new bedspread.

Okay, so the growing little boy isn't the only reason for the move. We have a new little person coming to share our house soon, and they are going to need a crib. Say hello to Calvin's little brother or sister, who should be with us in 20 more weeks (mid September).
